Southwire's 15kV cables are ideal for wet and dry areas, conduits, ducts, direct burial, sunlight, and when superior electrical performance is needed. They can operate continuously at up to 105°C for normal use, 140°C for overloads, and 250°C for short circuits. Available jacket types can be installed in conduits without lubrication and are rated for a maximum sidewall pressure of 1000 lbs./FT.
- Aluminum Conductor: Moisture-resistant class B, ASTM B231 1350, 3/4 hard H16/H26 (Optional: Non-moisture blocked)
- Conductor Shield: Semi-conducting cross-linked copolymer; Tape used for cables 1500 Kcmil and above
- Insulation: 175 Mils EPR/EAM 100% insulation level
- Insulation Shield: Strippable semi-conducting cross-linked copolymer
- Neutral: Soft drawn bare copper, one-third concentric, helically applied
- Jacket: LLDPE, black with red stripes; PowerGlide LLDPE optional
